POLYCRETE® system manholes

POLYCRETE® system manholes by MEYER are made of reactive resin moulding material with filler. Neither cement nor water are used. The common name of the material is polymer concrete, also abbreviated as PRC for "polyester resin concrete". The material properties and product dimensions are in line with DIN 54815. The moulding material meets the requirements of DIN 16946, Part 2, type 1140. The intrinsic bond between the resin and the aggregates enables the material to withstand high compressive and bending loads while the wall thickness and pipe weight are reduced. The result: lower freight and installation costs!

New challenges need new solutions!

Innovative production methods enable us to deliver complicated shaft structures to the building site within a few days and ready for installation: structures with various pipe connections, level drops, curved channels and changing diameters. The material and wall structure of POLYCRETE® polymer concrete system manholes is identical to the pipes.

The channel made of jointless polymer concrete is optimised for easy flow with an extremely smooth invert requiring minimum maintenance. The shaft base is made of one part, and all types of pipes can be connected to it with the according moulded connecting pieces.

Benefits for the user:
  • extremely short time for providing the structure (few hours)
  • water tightness
  • short installation times
  • quick building progress, only brief water management measures required
  • instant entry into service
  • no waiting for cement to cure
  • no risky joints
  • minimum soil excavation
  • no concrete floor slab required
  • low weight
Benefits for the client:
  • a structure that is corrosion-resistant inside and outside
  • long service life
  • same depreciation period as the pipes
  • no swirls in the channel due to the jointless polymer concrete surface
  • excellent hydraulic smoothness
  • no sulphuric acid corrosion causing a need for rehabilitation
  • more value added for the same price
  • cost-efficiency
  • minimum maintenance requirement (cleaning)
