Egg-shaped Pipes

POLYCRETE® egg-shaped pipes made by MEYER are ideally suited for building and rehabilitating mixed sewage pipelines. They are perfectly corrosion-resistant, reliably tight, carry high loads and are available in any size specified by DIN 4263, to mention but the most obvious advantages.

The curved top of the pipe is designed for optimum resistance to high loads, and the inner space is optimised for sewage collection and transportation. Another reason to use egg-shaped pipes is their walking height, which plays an especially important role for manual cleaning.

Pipes with an egg-shaped profile are often used for applications with major fluctuations in the sewage and water quantities. Due to the egg-shape the scouring velocity is relatively high even when the overall water quantity is small (i. e. optimised drag force cleaning the sewer). This hydraulic advantage is very useful for mixed sewage pipelines.

Egg-shaped POLYCRETE® pipes are connected using couplings that have for decades proven their worth with circular sewer pipes as well: GRP (glass fibre reinforced plastic) couplings. They are best suited because their manufacturing process involves lamination. So they can be adapted to any profile shape and inextricably linked with the elastomeric seals.
