Quality Assurance

POLYCRETE® pipe and manhole systems were introduced in accordance with DIN 54 815, with the relevant industry know-how and experience and with generally accepted engineering rules.

This DIN standard is not the only technical provision governing POLYCRETE® pipe and manhole systems, but it is one source of information for regular application. It also includes rules for planning, calculation and implementation that are recognised and employed by experts. So it may be considered an equivalent to the General Approval by the Construction Authority.

We have received the General Approval by the Construction Authority no. Z 42.1 - 250 from the German Institute for Construction Technology (Dibt) on 13th December 2002 for sewer pipes made of reactive resin moulding material with filler named POLYCRETE® - PRC and General Approval Z 42.1 - 353 from Dibt on 4th July 2003 for system manholes made of reactive resin moulding material with filler. We also hold the Approval for Individual Cases by the City of Hamburg for proven construction products not governed by rules.

In line with Conformity Certificate no. 21 9167 Meyer Rohr + Schacht GmbH runs an in-house production monitoring scheme and is subject to third party monitoring regarding compliance with the technical provisions of DIN 54 815 and the General Approvals by the Construction Authority no. Z 42.1 - 250 and Z 42.1 - 353.

The monitoring group appointed by the Supreme Construction Authority includes the North Rhine- Westphalian Agency for Materials Testing, The Engineering Office for Plastics Technology Siebert, and the South German Centre for Plastics Technology, of Würzburg. The group carries out the regular checks of POLYCRETE® pipe and manhole systems in the manufacturer's plant and documents the results. So the General Approval by the Construction Authority and DIN 54 815, Parts 1 and 2, are generally recognised engineering rules for pipe systems subject to in-house production monitoring and third party monitoring.

The requirements include the evidence that POLYCRETE® pipe and manhole systems and especially the tested pipe systems with connections were tested for their long-term performance. We have provided the required evidence of their secure function over 50 years.

In the context of European harmonisation the according European Standard prEN 14636-1 will appear soon.
