Since there was major corrosion damage in numerous manholes the town of Grand Rapids (Michigan, US) requested new structures made up of a chemically resistant material. Once more the decisive advantages of Polycrete® were:

• The polyester resin is most resistant to aggressive media.
• The quartz aggregates do not suffer from any chemical attack.
• The material has no capillaries, absorbs no water and does not allow gas diffusion.

So MEYER shipped the first manhole systems to the United States of America in August 2002. The builders, Dykema Construction, installed five DN 2000, three DN1200 and one DN 1200 manholes on site.
