Reference project Sydney - Meyer goes "Down Under"

In July 2002 the city of Sydney launched the public tender for "Sydney Water´s Georges River Programme Stage 1". The project included the renewal of the Liverpool, Glenfield, and Fairfield sewage processing plants as well as building a new sewage pipeline from Hoxton Park to the Liverpool sewage processing plant.
"Sydney Water" intended to invest about $ 100 mill. in order to improve and sustainably ensure the quality of life of the population in south-west Sydney. Project completion was scheduled for mid-2004.
In order to ensure long-term security and durability the tender required polymer concrete pipes for part of the 10 km long pipeline. Regardless of the distance between the MEYER production site in Germany and the installation site in Sydney MEYER won the contract for the jacking pipe section against local competitors.
In total we delivered 258 metres of DN 1400, 708 metres of DN 1600, and 984 metres of DN1800 POLYCRETE® jacking pipes to Sydney, where they were installed in successful co-operation with the Walter Construction Group.
Shipping the pipes turned out to be the great challenge in this project. One container could only hold three pipes, which were 3 m long. As a result almost one whole shipload of pipes arrived in Sydney at the same time, requiring excellent space management. However, the occurring problems were mastered, and the team could get down to the real work and complete it successfully.
